Rachel Keller is a fictionalized character from The Ring movie series. The character of Rachel Keller, a fictional character in The Ring film series, was created by Ehren Kr ger and portrayed as Naomi Watts. In The Ring Two, Rachel must delve into the history of Samara Morgan, her son's mother, after he is diagnosed with a mysterious ailment.In The Ring, Rachel Keller who is an investigative journalist is contacted by her sister Ruth to find out the mysterious circumstances behind her niece Katie's death. She tells Rachel that she discovered her daughter's disfigured corpse in the closet. She also informs Rachel the official cause of her death was a heart attack, even though Katie being a healthy teenager. Katie's close friends inform Rachel about the myth of the videotape that was cursed and Becca, Katie's friend, was taken to a hospital after seeing Katie's death. Katie's boyfriend and two acquaintances died in an accident the same night , at 10 midnight. Rachel goes to Shelter Mountain Inn and stays at Cabin 12, the same cabin where Katie and her friends watched the cursed videotape. Rachel discovers the tape and begins to watch it following which her phone rings. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel looks to Noah Clay, her ex-boyfriend and a video analyst , for help. Rachel finds out later that Aidan (her son who is also with Noah) saw the tape and said that he believed what she said. Rachel investigates the tape to find the location of the lighthouse. It was located on Moesko Island. Anna Morgan was a horse breeder cursed was on the tape. Rachel finds out that Anna was the mother of an adoptive daughter, Samara. Samara was capable of creating disturbing images that were able to be projected into the minds of animals, humans and even objects. Rachel has to go to Anna's widower Richard when she starts asking questions regarding Samara.
